Audio Portfolio
In addition to Live Events, I have substantial experience in music, voiceover, and podcast production. Working with many different artists on a wide variety of creative projects, I thoroughly enjoy being able to use my technical skills to help a project come to life.
Music
"Colors"
KJ Queener, who performs under the name KJ The Cool Nerd, is a highly motivated artist as well as a good friend of mine. His song Colors is a 2010s style pop tune featuring lots of aux percussion and vocal stacks. You can check out my video of the tracking process for Colors in my video portfolio.

Role(s): Tracking and Mixing Engineer
"Time Will Tell"
"Time Will Tell" is a soft-rock tune exploring the humble beginnings of a solid, loving relationship. The emphasis of ukulele and shakers in the mix add a nostalgic touch to this song. Tracking this song was completed with my recording partner Grace Heckenlively.

"I'm Not Drunk"
"I'm Not Drunk" is an adult-comedy tune by Central Ohio Music Educator Tom Atkinson. Tracking was done with my recording partner Grace Heckenlively. What's unique about this piece is that is was mixed completely analog using an Audient ASP8024 console. While I didn't have virtually unlimited options in terms of special effects, the Moog Delay in Studio A of Capital University was a perfect touch for this song (0:53).

"Walkin' Shoes - Gerry Mulligan"
"Walkin' Shoes - Gerry Mulligan" is a contemporary jazz piece performed by the Alex Burgoyne Quartet. It is my first attempt at mixing jazz, and I wanted to add a more contemporary feel by adding light touches of digital effects, such as a light chorus on the saxophone to create a layering effect. This piece is still a favorite of mine to this day and marks a milestone in my journey of music production.

Podcasts
"The Trees on Primmer"
Client: Kaela Folatko
Role(s): Tracking, comping, and mixing engineer
"The Trees on Primmer" is a project dedicated to a largely-unknown property owned by Capital University: Primmer. As a capstone project, alumna Kaela Folatko wanted to create plaques dedicated to educating visitors about the Trees on Primmer. The end result was 34 voiceover clips, each ranging from 0:30-1:00 minutes. The clips will reach visitors via a QR code posted on a plaque in front of each specific tree.
"Cbuzz"
Client: Columbus Chamber of Commerce
Role(s): Tracking, comping, and mixing engineer
Cbuzz is an award-winning podcast hosted by brand journalist Mikaela Hunt. It is supported by the Columbus Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Capital University's Music Technology program. Being on the audio crew for the Spring 2022 season of Cbuzz was an incredibly fulfilling experience and helped me develop voiceover production skills like never before. The clip is the first minute of a typical Cbuzz episode.
"Music in History: The Vietnam Conflict"
Music in History was curriculum for an entry-level music course, and I chose to show my mastery by combining full-podcast production with one of my favorite subjects of historical analysis: The Vietnam conflict in America. My goal with this project was not to simply regurgitate obvious correlations between songs of the sixties and Vietnam. I wanted to tell the story of the Vietnam conflict and its cultural significance through the lense of music of the sixties. The result is a 6-minute podcast with appropriately timed music beds, song excerpts, and basic voiceover edits.

Voiceover
"Kate the Lion Tamer"
VO Artist: Brady Holt
Role(s): Tracking, comping, and mixing engineer
Kate the Lion Tamer is a children's book written by Capital alumna Meredith Honaker. This project is where I first learned and performed the full process of voiceover work: tracking, editing, processing, and mixing with industry-standard equipment and plugins. Playing guitar in this piece is Grace Heckenlively.
"Dihydrogen Monoxide"
VO Artist: Josephine Hutira
Role(s): Tracking, comping, and mixing engineer
"Dihydrogen Monoxide" is the first Voiceover project I've ever attempted, and to this day it is still my favorite piece of VO work. When assigned to create a 30-second "donut" ad using stock music beds, I decided to parody the typical fear-mongering PSAs that plague corporate media. Using effects automation and rather...interesting field recording techniques, I created a terrifying yet hilarious advertisement that subliminally encompasses the issues with "truth" in modern media.
The Radio Spot project is designed to create a fast-paced ad for Capital University's student-run radio station, WXCU. Using audio editing like extreme EQ, pitch shift, and pan automation, the Radio Spot is proof of the power in basic Pro Tools skills.
